Slide 14 of 27 ARexx is case sensitive, though confusingly it hides this by converting everything not enclosed in quotes to capitals internally. Conventionally, ARexx host names and commands are always in capitals for this reason. If quotes are used however, lower case is maintained, thus causing the 3rd example to not work, since the port name is YAM, not yam.
